The Education Ministry has signed agreements with five banks and the Jordan Mortgage Refinance Company for a total value of 12 million Jordanian dinars (JD), a source at the Education Ministry said on Saturday. The agreements are intended to make it easier for the ministry employees to purchase computers.

The agreements were signed with the Housing Bank for Trade And Finance, Arab Bank Ltd, Jordan Kuwait Bank, Jordan Investment and Finance Bank, and Arab Banking Corporation, according to the source, who refused to be named.

According to the source, under the agreement, a ministry employee would receive a loan of a maximum of JD800 to purchase a computer and have to repay the loan within 48 months. Loan repayment would be deducted monthly from teachers' salaries. Teachers can select the loan repayment period that best suits them up to a maximum of 48 months. — ( Jordan Times
