Compaq recently announced an organizational restructuring of its Middle East operations. Under the new structure, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will now have its own independent subsidiary, stated a press release.
Compaq’s Gulf and Levant operations, which used to include the UAE, will now be re-named the Market Development Group, and will handle nine countries from its existing base in Dubai.
To maintain and further develop its position in the region's services business, Compaq Middle East has recently taken significant initiatives, such as the opening of its Global Services office in Abu Dhabi following the opening of similar offices in Riyadh and Cairo a few years ago. In addition, Compaq launched a Solutions and Technology center at Dubai Internet City, which is the first of its kind in the region and focuses heavily on the actual demonstration of enterprise business solutions. — (menareport.com)
