Coca-Cola named offical soft drink of 15th Gulf Cup

Coca-Cola has been chosen as the official soft drink of the 15th Gulf Football Championship Khaleej 15, which kicks off in Riyadh on January 16 at King Fahad International Stadium in the Saudi capital. 

 

“This year’s Gulf Football Championship is the perfect opportunity to reinforce our commitment to the beautiful game and invest in the future of football here in Saudi Arabia,” stated Mustafa Farsi, Public Affairs Manager, Coca-Cola Saudi Arabia. 

 

Hassan Al Nafeesah , President and CEO, Shamel Communications Group, the official marketing and sponsorship agent of the Gulf Cooperation Council, stressed on the role which Coca-Cola and other internationally renowned companies could play in the development and promotion of worldwide sports. 

 

The soft drink giant has also unveiled its promotional program for Gulf Cup 15. Farsi pointed out that his company’s Gulf Cup activation program will include extending Coca-Cola’s invitation to a number of disabled children and their parents to watch the games of the Saudi national team live at King Fahad Stadium.  

 

The program will also feature the Fan of the Match promotion whereby a random photographs of cheering fans at Saudi national team matches will be published in a sports daily. Photographed fans will be eligible for free seating for the following Saudi match. 

 

The company will also run its first-ever sports photography competition in the region, which challenges all press photographers to capture soccer players drinking Coca-Cola during the Gulf Cup tournament. Winners of the first four best shots will receive cash prizes and gifts. 

 

Under the Kingdom’s Saudization drive, more than 24 percent of the Coca Cola’s 2,000 staff is made up of Saudi Nationals. Products of The Coca-Cola Company are bottled in Saudi Arabia by The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Saudi Arabia at the Company’s plants in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam. The Company’s product range in Saudi Arabia includes Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola light, Fanta, Sprite, Hi-C and POWERaDE. — (menareport.com)
