City of Arabia were pleased to sponsor the prestigious United Arab Emirates Handball Federation U.A.E. President Cup competition held on 31st May at Al Nasr Leisure Land Club. Competing for the coveted cup, were an impressive line up of national clubs from across the UAE. After a hard days competitive activity the prize was finally awarded to Al Ain club.

Encouraging the adolescence of the UAE to participate in such a beneficial activity is fundamental to our community approach to business,” said Mustafa Galadari, Vice Chairman and Managing Director. City of Arabia, the sponsor of this year’s competition, is the largest private sector project in the Middle East. The 2 billion dollar project, being developed by the Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group, will include the largest mall in the region, the Mall of Arabia; the Restless Planet, a dinosaur theme park; the Wadi Walk, a series of apartments, hotels, and cafes alongside a flowing canal and 34 mixed use towers. The project is due for completion in late 2008.
HH UAE President’s Cup for handball is firmly established on the Dubai sporting calendar with top level competition attracting visitors from around the region.
City of Arabia
The City of Arabia, which is being developed by the Ilyas & Mustafa Galadari Group, is a multi million dollar project of 20m sq ft of land in the Downtown area of Dubailand. It will include the largest shopping mall in the region, the Mall of Arabia; the Restless Planet, a dinosaur theme park with over 100 animatronic dinosaurs; a 10 km long Wadi Walk with Mediterranean-style apartments, cafes and shops beside a flowing canal; and 34 tower blocks for mixed commercial, hotel and residential use. The project will, when completed, provide accommodation for around 40,000 residents.
This new City, at the heart of Dubailand, will be a magnet for the existing residents of Dubai and visitors alike; tourist facilities will include a 4-star hotel over the entrance to the Mall of Arabia and a smaller boutique hotel on an island in the waterway. The City of Arabia, which will have its own monorail people-mover linking the residential areas to the Mall and the Restless Planet, will be opened in 2008.
