Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group recently signed an agreement with Stephan Sohn of SPS to sponsor a racing car that will compete in the Porsche Michelin Supercup 2006/2007. The branded Porsche will take part in a total of 11 races, bringing the City of Arabia to places as varied as Monte Carlo and Indianapolis.
Ilyas Galadari, Chairman, commented, “Both Mustafa and myself have a lifelong interest in cars and have always been Porsche owners. It is a logical step therefore to combine this with our business interests through racing sponsorship”.
With distinctive and colourful City of Arabia branding displayed on its bodywork, the car is tailormade for customer motorsport with near standard vehicles. For the next year SPS will run the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car in the race series which will closely follow the European Formula 1 races with two additional races in the USA and the Gulf.

The Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group is a young company which was founded in 1998. The Group already owns a number of diversified companies in Dubai. The most important of these is the Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Management Investment and Development Company, which is developing the key downtown area of Dubailand, the City of Arabia. This will be a new suburb of Dubai with around 40,000 inhabitants, which is situated on Emirates Road next to the Global Village. It will include the largest retail project in the region, and one of the largest in the world, the Mall of Arabia; a major theme-park, the Restless Planet, which will, with great realism, demonstrate the birth of our planet and the rise and fall of the dinosaurs, and which is being developed in collaboration with the Natural History Museum of London; the Elite Towers, which consist of 34 high-rise buildings for mixed commercial and residential use; and the Wadi Walk, a series of low-rise apartments alongside a flowing waterway, served by small electric water-taxis.
