French Police have searched the Paris home of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Christine Lagarde as part if an investigation in to a multi-million dollar payment to one of Nicolas Sarkozy's supporters in 2008.
Lagarde denies any wrongdoing and has been under investigation since 2011. Her lawyer said that the search would show she's got nothing to hide.
"This search will help uncover the truth, which will contribute to exonerating my client from any criminal wrongdoing," Lagarde's lawyer," Yves Repiquet, told Reuters.
French prosecutors are investigating Legarde's actions as Finance Minister in 2008, when she approved an arbitration panel's decision to award Bernard Tapie 240m euros ($311m).
