Canada’s Centurion Energy International Inc. has announced that its Al-Wastani Field, located in the Nile Delta in Egypt, has reached production rate of 12 million cubic feet per day of gas and 300 barrels per day of condensate as of Arpil 3. The Al-Wastani field produces from two wells and is connected to the Abu Madi gas processing plant by a 28-kilometer pipeline. The field commenced production on March 31, 2002.
The Al-Wastani production of 2,300 boe per day increases company production to over 4,800 boe per day. With the commissioning of the SEEB power plant in Tunisia expected in June 2002, daily company production will exceed 5,300 bopd with Centurion's share of gas sales to SEEB adding approximately 525 boe per day to company production levels.
Centurion’s Al-Wastani Field is the first company-operated production to be brought on-stream in Egypt and is the first stage of gas development planned for the Al-Manzala Concession. Centurion now has three gas discoveries in the southern part of the Al-Manzala Concession and has submitted a plan of development to Egyptian government authorities for development of additional gas production of 35 million cubic feet per day with production expected to commence by mid 2003.
In Tunisia, production from the Al-Manzah field continues to exceed our expectations with current production stabilized at about 1,000 bopd. Pressure maintenance continues with the injection of approximately 3,000 barrels of water per day. The Al-Manzah field has produced over 800,000 barrels of high quality oil to date, which is sold to a local Tunisian refinery at a price of Brent plus 50 cents. — (menareport.com)
