Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ) has announced that its general manager, Andy Stevens, has been re-elected to the Global Board of Diners Club International (DCI), serving a second two-year term as the representative for the Middle East region.
Stevens has been elected by Diners Club franchise holders across the Middle East, recognizing both his professional involvement with DCI and CBQ's status as exclusive Diners Club franchise holder in Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt, Syria and Yemen.
The Global Board assists the ongoing development of the DCI organization by focusing the input and helping coordinate the activities of Diners Club franchise holders around the world. It advises on issues such as growth objectives for card numbers and spend-volumes and the prioritization of major projects, such as product launches and authorization policy changes.
The board also promotes the implementation of certain policies and actions affecting the entire DCI Global Network, such as fraud cost sharing, settlement cycles and marketing programs affecting multiple franchises, such as for multinational corporate card pricing.
The Global Board consists of nine elected representatives of the various DCI geographic regions, together with the chairman and president of DCI. It meets at least annually, at times and locations mutually agreed by the board members. Elected members serve for two years and may be re-elected for multiple terms. Stevens first joined the DCI Global Board in 2000, while serving as CBQ's assistant general manager and head of Retail Banking.
Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ) has been designated the ‘Highest Rated Qatari Bank’ by Moody's, the credit rating agency, for six consecutive years, and ‘Best Bank in Qatar’ by, the international finance publication Euromoney.
The Bank has maintained its leading role in the retail/personal and investment banking sectors in Qatar, dominates banking technology and is the first bank to offer an Internet home banking service in Qatar. — (menareport.com)
