Case Technology recently announced that they have completed a full turnkey solution for The Sheikh Zayed Private Academy for Girls (SZPAG). After a successful pilot program for Grade nine students, the school is now introducing an ambitious laptop program encompassing Grades seven through 11.
Computer-assisted learning is integrated throughout the curriculum, with technology also being taught through Grades one to six. Academic Principal, Pamela McInroy explains “Our school enjoys a strategic affiliation with The Bishop Strachan School (BSS), the premier Canadian Independent All-Girls School located in Toronto. In 1999 BSS launched a thriving laptop program, and we are echoing that success at The Sheikh Zayed Private Academy for Girls. We are the first primary to secondary school in the United Arabe Emirates (UAE) to introduce such a motivated use of current technology. We already see benefits in our efficiency, and are currently exploring the flexible benefits of an Intel Wireless LAN in our Science Laboratory.”
Each teacher is supplied with an IBM ThinkPad and is given the training and support needed to employ technology as a tool for content delivery. “Content can be dynamic and lively. By being so, it provides the spark to fire life-long independent learning,” said McInroy.
