In a bid to strengthen their economic ties, the governments of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Canada recently signed an agreement for the avoidance of double taxation. The agreement stipulates tax exemption from national transport carriers, trade profits and slashing tariffs on share and bond profits, reported WAM.
Trade between the UAE and Canada reached 380 million Canadian dollars in 2000. The volume of Canadian exports to UAE reached CAD 224.3 million in during the same period and have been growing faster than with any other country in the Middle East and North Africa. Over 40 Canadian companies have established offices in the Emirates. — (menareport.com)
