BSE index drops by 22 points in March

The Bahrain Stock Exchange (BSE) index for March closed at 1,761.49 points, marking a decrease of 22.13 points below last month’s closing index, stated a monthly report. Results indicated that 725 transactions took place with a volume of 28,219,581 shares worth 5.418 million Bahraini dinars ($14.3 million).  

 

The service sector, commercial bank sector and the insurance sector were registered as the most of the month’s activities. The Telecommunication Company, Ahli United Bank and Takaful International Company emerged as the most active companies for March.  

 

BSE was established in 1987. Starting off with 29 listed companies in 1989; this figure grew to 41 in 2000 and included the first non-GCC company to list in the region. — (menareport.com)
