Canadian business jet manufacturer Bombardier announced on Monday, November 5 that it had clinched two orders for seven planes of its latest model, the Global 5000, worth in total nearly $230 million.

TAG Aeronautics of Switzerland ordered five planes and the Dubai-based Execujet two, said Shawn Vick, Bombardier's senior sales vice-president, during the Dubai air show, in the United Arab Emirates. He did not disclose the amount of the deals, but pointed out that the unit price of the Global 5000 is $33 million.

The Global 5000, introduced last month, is capable of flying non-stop from the central United States to continental Europe at high speed. TAG and Execujet are specialized in leasing and providing air transport services for companies and businessmen. TAG is also a distributor of Bombardier in the Middle East. — (AFP, Dubai)
