The US aircraft manufacturer Boeing announced Wednesday, March 21, that it would upgrade 35 Apache attack helicopters for Egypt in a deal worth $400 million.
A statement from Boeing's aircraft and missile systems division here said that a foreign military sales contract would be finalized in the coming weeks, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2003.
The Egyptian Army's AH-64A Appache helicopters are to be upgraded to the next-generation AH-64D configuration, Boeing said. — (AFP, Arizona)
