The International Middle East Exhibition for Textile, Embroidery and Sewing Machinery and Accessories (ITCE Dubai 2004) will make its debut in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region with ITCE Dubai 2004 to be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from September 7-9, 2004.
Organised by Intralinks in cooperation with ACG&ITE, a leading trade fairs organiser, ITCE Dubai 2004 coincides with its official partner show, MOTEXHA Autumn 2004, the Middle East region's largest Fashion and Textile trade
show. ITCE Dubai 2004 will bring together around 250 companies from across the world exhibiting the latest in textile manufacturing technology and accessories to around 6000 trade visitors in an effort to boost the region's US$ 11 billion textile market.
Commenting on ITCE Dubai 2004, Nora Soliman, Business Development Manager, Intralinks and ACG & ITE, said: "We have seen a surge of activity with the entry of international clothing brands into the region as well as a
growth in the number of garment manufacturing units in the GCC area encouraging the production and export sectors. As a result the industry is growing remarkably in the Middle East region. Dubai's strategic position at the cross roads of the world's largest textile markets and the steps it has
taken to support the manufacturing and entrepreneurial activity in the sector has made Dubai the ideal location for hosting the exposition."
The government has already announced the launch of a US$ 60 million Dubai Textiles City built to consolidate Dubai's US$ 2.4 billion textile market.
The industry corners 37 per cent of the GCC market, worth US$ 6.5 billion, and is the second largest contributor to the Dubai's trading industry and a key sector of the economy in the Emirate.
Textile industry leaders are mulling to opt Dubai as their trading hub in anticipation of the business the Indian and Chinese textile markets will generate once the trading quotas are done away at the turn of the year 2005.
ITCE Dubai 2004 will serve the traders and visitors from countries including; Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen, UAE, Russia, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
