Batelco, the Kingdom’s leading Internet Service provider, will launch a new email address policy, on Wednesday 21st February. The new email address policy will give customers greater flexibility with their choice of email addresses which can now have from 4 to 25 alphanumeric characters, starting with a letter, and may include special characters such as (.), (-), (_). This is great news for all customers as they can now have their own name, company name or any other extended nick name as their Batelco email ID.
All requested Batelco email addresses are subject to availability at time of application. To help customers search for available email addresses, Batelco has introduced an easy to use online tool on their e-services page (www.e-services.com.bh) where customers can enter their desired email addresses and check the availability.
“We believe that email has become the most utilised Internet service throughout the world and the cornerstone for companies and individuals’ communication,” said Batelco General Manager Ahmed Al Janahi.
“The number of email messages exchanged by Batelco email servers exceeds 10,000 per day. This highlights the importance of email in the lives of Bahrain’s residents.”
“All emails go through anti-spam and anti-virus checks to ensure customers receive virus and spam free traffic as much as possible,” added Mr. Al Janahi.
Residential customers who wish to request additional Batelco email addresses or rename their existing ones should send a request from their existing Batelco email account to [email protected] or visit any Batelco shop, while Batelco Business customers should call the Batelco Business Service Management Unit on 17 881144 or contact their Account Manager.
These new email address changes follow recent enhancements for Batelco inet customers whereby email box sizes were increased for all Broadband and Dial-up customers and email message size was also increased to allow customers to send and receive messages up to 10MB.
