Bahrain's Batelco has joined forces with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry to help companies in the Kingdom discover how Internet and related technologies can improve the way they run their businesses. This ‘team approach' to coaching Bahrain businesses in Internet and data skills fits with Batelco's aim to build an ‘intelligent kingdom' by providing, and encouraging the use of modern info-communications technologies, according to a company press release.

“We have chosen this computer-lab set-up at the Chamber of Commerce because we believe it will be easier for businessmen to attend seminars, classes and events in the program and take advantage of the free training offered by experts,” Batelco's Chief Executive Tony Hart said. Purpose-built by the Chamber of Commerce, the coaching facilities include a laboratory with nine state-of-the-art networked computers for the basic Internet-training sessions.

The course covers general understanding of the Internet and how it works, useful information on operating speeds and connectivity, using electronic mail and other Internet features, security on the Internet, and how the Internet can be applied to ordinary, not-necessarily-technology-type businesses by saving costs, boosting marketing efforts and increasing sales and efficiency. — (menareport.com)
