The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) is expected to solicit regional and international financing in the first quarter of 2002 for its refinery renewal project, which was approved two years ago, reported Al-Sharq Al-Awsat. A senior industrial source said that Bapco’s request will amount to approximately $650 million. The loan will be equivalent to 80 percent of the renewal project, which is estimated at $800 million. — (menareport.com)
