Northern Municipal Council has presented a proposal for an alternative route leading to Bahrain's Northern Cities project to the French Town Planner which is looking after the design of the town, Bahrain Tribune reported.
Alternative-route plans were suggested by NMC after scores of families stood against the first route plan which would interrupt their newly-built houses and would also separate Diraz district, said council chairman, Majeed Al Sayed.
“We can’t infringe on the property of these houses because it belongs to the people themselves and not to the Ministry of Works and Housing.” Al Sayed said.
Meanwhile, the second-route plan by the council gets final approval.
