Bahrain's financial sector is the leading contributor to the kingdom's economic growth for the third successive year, the GDN has reported. The sector's contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has grown from BD820.1 million in 2004 to BD965.7m last year.
Central Informatics Organisation Under-Secretary Ahmed Al Amer told a press conference Bahrain achieved a GDP of BD3.5 billion last year, with an increase of BD253.7m from BD3.24bn in 2004, or 7.8pc.
