The majority of companies in the Bahraini private sector are expected to switch to a Friday and Saturday weekend to further compete with firms on an international level, a leading businessman said Tuesday. According to the GDN, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce (BCCI) and Industry chairman Essam Fakhro believes the move is crucial to protect the kingdom's position as the financial hub of the Middle East.
The Cabinet announced on Monday that the new government weekend would be introduced on September 1.
