Bahrain retains a steady level of growth in the Visa card industry with a 15 percent rise in card numbers to achieve a total of 190,000 cards. Spending also increased by 14 percent with annual cardholder expenditure reaching $580 million.
Visa-branded cards generate more than $2.3 trillion in annual volume and are accepted at more than 29 million physical locations around the world, including more than 800,000 automated teller machines (ATM).
