Water Middle East 2003, the international exhibition and conference on water technology is set to become an annual event for integrated water resources management, water and wastewater technology as well as reuse and recycling of water.
Water Middle East 2003 will be held from October 6-8, 2003 under the patronage of Bahrain’s Minister of Electricity and Water Shaikh Abdulla bin Salman Al-Khalifa. It is organized by the Bahrain Ministry of Commerce in cooperation with the German government-owned Nuernberg Global Fairs. The date for the second event has been set for September 13-15, 2004.
The move is in line with Bahrain's strong drive to become the regional hub for specific business sectors and to serve as a business gateway to the Arab Economic Region as well as Central and West Asia and East Africa.
Over 100 companies from 20 countries will display and promote their latest cost-efficient and water-saving applications, technologies and services covering the entire spectrum of water catchment, distribution, storage, treatment and wastewater management.
The largest number of exhibitors comes from Germany (23), Bahrain (14), Saudi Arabia (10), Austria (9) as well as exhibitors from other countries including Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and United Kingdom. The larger groups of exhibitors will display their exhibits and services in National Pavilions i.e. Austria, Germany, State of Bavaria, etc.
Simultaneously to the exhibition, a high-level conference will be held with 40 speakers from 22 countries with the objective to highlight the regional requirements and the existing water problems as well as the immense opportunities for international cooperation in order to secure the long-term supply of quality water to a fast growing population as well as many new urban centers and industrial and for tourism developments. — (menareport.com)
