A municipal council has been accused of preventing investment by halting construction of a 10-storey apartment building in Umm Al Hassam. The Manama Municipal Council vetoed the project on the basis it can allow only new buildings to be built in the area if they are no more than six storeys high.
According to the GDN, the council had earlier given it the approval to go up to 10 storeys under a previous classification system. Now it seems construction will be resumed.
