Foundation work on the BD10 million plus Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland-Medical University of Bahrain's (RCSI-MUB) new campus being built in Busaiteen, Muharraq, officially got underway Monday. According to GDN, Bahrain's Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Irish Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Mary Harney jointly laid the foundation stone to mark the occasion.

The 90,000 square-metre campus, which is expected to be operational by October 2007, will replace MUB's current premises in the Seef District.
