Needy families have been waiting for up to 20 years for land promised to them free, under royal gestures, parliament heard Tuesday. According to the GDN, these families cannot get government housing loans, because they are listed as getting free land, one lawmaker was quoted as saying.
A total 613 plots promised under royal gestures have yet to be handed over, because the land is not available, Bahrain's Works and Housing Minister Fahmi Al Jowder replied.
