Bahrain's Royal Court has warned municipal councillors to speed up procedures for families benefiting from a nationwide scheme to renovate and rebuild needy people's homes.
According to GDN, Royal Court Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa ordered the presidents of the five municipal councils to immediately start implementing the Royal gesture as early as next week.
Under the scheme, announced in 2003, some 6,000 homes will be renovated or demolished and rebuilt over five years. Municipal Councils were requested to select families which need urgent aid from the scheme, which will cost between BD90 million and BD120m.
