BD18 million has been spent on housing loans by the Eskan (Housing) Bank over the past six months, the GDN has reported. The bank has served 3,085 clients, who either took construction, renovation or purchase loans.
The bank's deputy general manager Jawad Nasser has stressed that the bank was in good financial condition, thanks to the government pumping in money. "There are 45,000 families still without homes, waiting either for a government home or for loans from us, but we can't help them all," he added.
