A plan to merge the government pension schemes of the Bahraini private and public sectors may save the kingdom at least BD500,000 (US$1.3M) a year. According to the GDN, the General Organisation for Social Insurance (Gosi) and the Pension Fund Commission (PFC) are set to merge under a plan first suggested by parliament.
The suggestion was studied by the government, which indicated that it is practical and could save it BD500,000 to BD700,000 a year, said Pension Fund Commission (PFC) director general Rashid Al Meer.
