Bahrain-based Jawad Business Group (JBG) recently signed a joint venture agreement with Kuwait’s Public Warehousing Company (PWC) to open a $10 million logistics, warehousing and supply chain facility in Bahrain. Construction is underway with a target date of completion set for February 2003.
According to JBG chairman, Faisal Jawad, the new company will be called PWC Global Logistics Bahrain (GLB) and will be located in the Mameer Industrial Area on land leased by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Jawad said
The new company will feature a narrow aisle high bay racking system, equipped with sophisticated material handling equipment to process goods up to 14 meters in storage height. The warehouse is expected to create more than 100 employment opportunities.
PWC was established in 1979 and provides supply chain, e-commerce, customs, price research and decision support solutions to private and public sectors. It is publicly traded and is currently listed on with a market capitalization of $350 million. — (menareport.com)
