Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Wednesday met Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Sherif Ismail and discussed means to improve cooperation.
Ensour highlighted the burdens Jordan is enduring due to the high energy bill, which widens the budget deficit.
He underlined the "distinguished" strategic relations Jordan and Egypt enjoy at all levels, which he said contributes to improving energy security in both countries.
For his part, Ismail cited his country's efforts to draw up plans to meet the growing demand on energy.
Last year, the Kingdom, Iraq and Egypt signed a memorandum of understanding on transporting oil and natural gas between them.
Also on Wednesday Energy Minister Mohammad Hamed met with Ismail and discussed means to develop cooperation in expertise exchange and training, especially in renewable energy and natural gas.
