Australia is the 15th largest exporting country to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The value of bilateral exchanges between both states totaled 5.3 billion Saudi Riyals ($1.4 billion), of which SR 2.34 billion is in Saudi shares and 2.9 billion are in Australian shares, reported Al-Riyadh . In the first nine months of 2001, Saudi imports from Australia hit SR 3.62 billion.
Official statistics show that there are 11 Saudi-Australian joint investment projects in the Kingdom. The total capital invested in these projects amounts to 344.8 million Saudi Riyals ($92 million), of which SR 94.5 million are in Australian shares and SR 247.6 million are Saudi shares.
