Blundstone Pty Ltd., Australasia's largest manufacturer of heavy-duty work and protective safety footwear, plans to target the growing markets of the Gulf and Middle East, with its appointment of Dubai Footwear Company (DFC) as the sole distributor of its products in the region.
“The last decade has seen the emergence of the Middle East as a fast growing market for industrial and safety footwear particularly because of the rapid expansion and construction programs that have been initiated in most of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and we feel that this is an ideal time to establish a presence here,” said Barry Smith, Group Marketing Manager of Blundstone Pty Ltd.
Dubai Footwear Company (DFC), a manufacturer of industrial and military footwear in the Middle East based in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZ), United Arab Emirates (UAE), has recently announced that it has been awarded the certificate of approval to the new ISO 9001:2000 International Quality Management System.
Dubai Company Footwear Ltd. was established in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZ) in 1989 to manufacture casual and classic fashion shoes to the UAE and foreign markets, but in 1994 the firm diversified into manufacturing of military and industrial (safety) footwear, which has eventually become its core business activity.
Blundstone has operating in Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific, Asia, Europe, North America and Scandinavia markets. — (menareport.com)
