3Com, a leading provider of secure converged networking technology, today announced that Arab National Bank, a Saudi Joint Stock Company, is overhauling its information network and security infrastructure with a 3Com Secure Networking solution.
The upgrade, featuring 3Com edge and core networking and TippingPoint Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), will allow Arab National Bank to deploy new applications, enhance customer-facing services and provide faster, secure customer transactions across its extensive country-wide branch network.
“We are continually looking at ways to take the lead in introducing technology that improves customer service, and 3Com is helping us deliver on that promise,” said Mr. Ahmad Ashgan, General Manager Central Operations and IT Group, Arab National Bank. “With increased IT efficiency from this upgrade, our customers will feel the benefit of increased transaction speed and enjoy innovative new services.”
The selection of the 3Com solution reinforces Arab National Bank position as one of the country’s most technologically advanced financial institutions after it launched the Kingdom’s first e-banking solution in 2000. The implementation of the project is underway, with the upgrade enhancing all parts of Arab National Bank’s business, including retail, corporate, Islamic and investment arms.
“This relationship is a demonstration of 3Com’s technology leadership, exceptional value and our proven ability to deliver mission critical service levels to major enterprise organizations like Arab National Bank,” said Issac Shihabi, general manager, 3Com Middle East.
In addition to securing it with the industry leading TippingPoint IPS, The bank’s new network infrastructure comprises multiple 3Com Switch 8800 core switches, Switch 5500 edge switches and both 5000 and 6000 series Routers.
