The first Arab conference on electronic trade and intellectual property rights will open in Amman under royal patronage on Monday, with the participation of international experts and representatives of concerned Jordanian organizations, universities and information technology centers.
Organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in collaboration with the ministry of industry and trade, the three-day meeting will focus on ways to spread awareness about IT, the Internet, electronic trade and legal and economic aspects related to the protection of intellectual property and copyrights (IPR).
WIPO has chosen Jordan as a venue for the conference in appreciation of King Abdullah's call for the adoption of modern technology to help fulfill the country's aspirations, transfer modern technology to Jordan and promote investments. — ( Jordan Times )
