ALBAWABA - Apple has released an emergency update after discovering 15 security and technical vulnerabilities in the iPhone operating system, as reported by the British newspaper Daily Mail.
In a recent report, the Daily Mail stated that Apple is urging users worldwide to immediately install the update to safeguard their cybersecurity and privacy. The company emphasized the importance of not ignoring the update to prevent potential breaches or hacking attempts on their iPhones.
Apple has identified 15 security issues, some of which may have previously led to the leakage of user data and unauthorized access by hackers. The update, named iOS 17.3, was rolled out by Apple in recent days, featuring various enhancements and bug fixes, with users strongly encouraged to apply it on their devices.
One of the exploited vulnerabilities is related to Mail Search, allowing third-party applications to access the user's personal information. Another flaw affects the Safari browser, potentially exposing the user's browsing activity in settings.
Security updates tailored for iPhone and iPad devices have encountered a dilemma, where the same fixes that protect customer data also expose security flaws. This revelation came from two cybersecurity experts at Tazone, according to the Daily Mail.
The American tech company's announcement regarding the updated system mentioned that a maliciously designed webpage could capture the user's fingerprint. Furthermore, three other issues in the browser engine may have led to the execution of random code when processing web content.
