The Istanbul Gold Exchange and the Jewelry Chamber will meet in Anatolia next month to enhance cooperation between Anatolia's gold traders and the Istanbul investors.

The Istanbul Gold Exchange, organizer of the Precious Minerals Research Sector in Turkey meetings, hopes the gathering will find ways respond to the shortage of research on the jewelry sector in Turkey and the lack of plans for making use of the precious mineral resources available in Anatolia.

Istanbul Gold Exchange Director Serdar Citak said the meetings would focus on forming a strategy to develop cooperation and coordination and conduct research on the potential and current employment scale in Anatolia's precious mineral sector.

Citak added that the Istanbul jewelry market is in contact with and making greater use of the opportunities provided by the Istanbul Gold Exchange will also be on the agenda.

"The first stage of the project will focus on eight central cities -- Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Adana, Samsun, Antalya, Diyarbakir and Gaziantep and six big cities in Anatolia - Sanliurfa, Erzurum, Kahramanmaras, Kayseri, Trabzon and Denizli," Citak said.

If necessary, Citak said activity would be expanded to include more cities. Citak said the silver and gold investment companies and small and middle-scale enterprises in these cities would be briefed about the Istanbul Gold Exchange and its functions.

"They will learn how to make better use of the opportunities in the Istanbul gold market and some joint projects will be launched during these meetings," Citak said. – (Albawaba-MEBG)
