Amr Moussa, Secretary-General of the Arab League, will participate in the Arab ICT Summit, which opens in Dubai on October 12. The landmark Summit, being held under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and United Arab Emirate (UAE) Defense Minister, will bring together ministers, high-level government officials and business leaders of the Arab World's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry for a day-long summit to tackle the region's ICT issues.
The summit, which will also be attended Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, UAE Minister of Information, is being organized by Dubai Internet City and Emirates Media Inc. The event, the first of its kind, aims to discuss unified Arab efforts in accelerating ICT development in the Arab world.
Issues to be discussed at the summit include state policies that enhance the ICT revolution, the development of infrastructure, the development of human capital, E-government initiatives and the development of an Arab presence on the Internet.
Dubai Internet City (DIC) provides a Knowledge Economy Ecosystem that is designed to support the business development of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) companies.
