Australian-based oil and gas exploration company Amity reported that average daily sales of gas from its Gocerler Gas Field joint venture in Western Turkey was 13.17 million standard cubic feet for the final 16 days of December. This was up from the 11.37 million standard cubic feet per day for the first 15 days of December.
Gas sales volumes are planned to remain steady around these levels until the completion of pipelines to 8 new industrial customers and the drilling of Gocerler - 4 and 5. The Gocerler Gasfield is operated by Amity and owned jointly by Amity and Turkiye Petrolleri (TPAO).
The Joint Venture now has contracts to deliver approximately 20 million standard cubic feet per day from early 2003. Pipeline construction to connect eight new industrial customers is in progress and anticipated to be completed by the end of January.
Construction is proceeding satisfactorily and, subject to weather conditions, is anticipated to be completed by the end of January 2003. There is expected to be no interruption to gas supply during construction.
The upgrade will increase the permanently installed capacity of the plant to just over 20 million cubic feet per day. Further equipment expected by the end of the first quarter of 2003 will increase the permanently installed capacity to 30 million cubic feet per day.
Mobilization of two rigs for the drilling of development wells Gocerler-4 and 5 has now commenced. Both Gocerler-4 and 5 are now anticipated to spud in the second half of January due to mobilization delays. Mobilisation of the 2D seismic crew to the Adana Basin on the Turkish Mediterranean coast was completed and data acquisition has commenced. — (menareport.com)
