Dubai-headquartered Almasa Group, a two-billion dirham conglomerate with interests in information technology and real estate, has re-branded itself as Almasa Holdings.

The company, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2005, has adopted a new corporate identity and undertaken a restructuring to adapt to the challenges of a new era.

Explaining the striking new identity, Mr. Ehab Shouly, Chief Marketing Officer of Almasa Holdings said: “We wanted to create a distinct and unique identity for Almasa, which reflects our vision for the future.

“The infinity symbol represents the manifold growth, achievements and success of Almasa, while highlighting the challenges and opportunities ahead.”

Shouly added that the identity change was necessary to convey to its target audiences that the group is growing, diversifying into other economic sectors, reaching into new markets and continuously improving its products and services, providing customers with a better lifestyle.

The identities of all member companies have also been recreated. While they have distinct corporate identities, they fall under the Almasa Holdings umbrella.

Mr. Mehdi Amjad, President and CEO of Almasa Holdings said “Almasa, which started as an IT distribution company with a capital of AED one million, has grown to become the biggest IT distributor in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Within a short span of ten years we have achieved a turnover of AED two billion.”

“Now our target is to reach a turnover of AED six billion within the next five years,” said Amjad.

Almasa Holdings has six group companies, including their newest addition – Omniyat Properties – a real estate company launched recently with a capital of AED 300 million.

The group comprises Almasa IT Distribution, The Hiring Solutions Company, Almasa Business Solutions, Art International, Performance Systems and Omniyat Properties.

Almasa started out in computer hardware distribution but expanded into all other areas of information technology over the years, including manufacturing and assembly, software development, networking solutions, hardware repair and maintenance, software distribution, as well as online hiring solutions.

Almasa Holdings employs over 250 people with some 30 different nationalities across its six member-companies. It covers and operates in more than 60 countries, from the Middle East to North Africa, and Asia to Europe. The group has offices in 12 countries, with the biggest being its headquarters in Dubai.

Almasa IT Distribution, the group’s core company, is today the biggest IT distributor in the Middle East and North Africa, representing top international brands such as HP, Maxtor, Avaya, Hitachi, and Microsoft among others. It has just been voted the MENA region’s number one IT distributor for the second year running.
