Opecna the OPEC's News Agency reported on Tuesday that that Algeria will produce 500,000 barrels a day more oil over the next five years, and will also export 15 billion cubic meters of gas over and above the 60 bcm exported currently.

Energy and Mines Minister Chakib Khelil said Tuesday, on the sidelines of an international conference on emerging investment opportunities in the country's energy and mining sectors, that Algeria for the first time be exporting electricity and minerals.

Khelil also said that a draft law liberalizing the oil and gas sectors is expected to be adopted by parliament by the end of 2001 or early in 2002, and the oil and gas sectors should be entirely deregulated by 2005 and 2010 respectively, Opecna reported.
