Khalifa Airways, a subsidiary of an Algerian business group Khalifa, announced its acquisition of Antinea Airlines. The deal includes the purchase of the total face value of Antinea Airlines, making it the first purchase of its kind in the Algerian air transportation sector since its privatization in 1999.
As a result of the acquisition, Khalifa’s Airways, presently Algeria’s main private airline, will now include in its travel destinations, routes that were previously serviced by Antinea Airlines. Among the new destinations are five airports in Algeria and five international routes, one in Belgium and four in France.
The Khalifa Group operates in the banking, medical and transportation sectors, and employs approximately 7,000 workers.—(Albawaba-MEBG)
