Algeria’s public industrial sector recorded a 2.9 percent production fall in the third quarter of 2003, reported the National Statisitics Office.
The steel segment was the only category that witnessed a production increase of 0.5 percent in the third quarter of last year. Other sectors recorded production drops including the food industry, with output dropping 23 percent. Chemistry and rubber production dropped by 24 percent and building material output dropped by 13 percent. — (menareport.com)
