Real estate major Aldar Properties PJSC recently announced that it awarded a contract to British designer Speirs and Major Associates for the lighting design at Al Raha Beach.
The contract, awarded for a project-wide strategic lighting master plan for Al Raha Beach, is part of Dh10 billion infrastructure budget, according to Khaleej Times.
The contract decision will ensure that a lighting master plan is approved and implemented at the infrastructure stage, so that Speirs and Major will be able to plan exterior lighting within all areas of Al Raha. It will include design for lighting in all public realm areas of the development, including parks, canals, pedestrian walkways and footbridges.
"The appointment of Speirs and Major Associates adds another leading and world renowned designer to the existing team currently working on the project. Lighting is an integral part of the overall Al Raha Beach master plan, said Aldar's Chief Operating Officer, Ronald Barrott.
Speirs and Major Associates has worked to implement prestigious lighting projects across the globe, including Asia, Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East, and North America.
"Speirs and Major will create a safe and an aesthetically pleasing environment, whilst ensuring that the design of the lighting is in harmony with the environment," he added.
