Alcatel Middle East reports $400 million in regional sales for 2001

The President of Alcatel Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMAI), Jacques Dunogu stated that Alcatel’s profits in the Middle East region hit $400 million per annum, reported Al-Hayat. EMAI recently allocated a large amount of investments toward the development of their third generation mobile telephone. In a press conference held in Abu Abu Dhabi in cooperation with the Emirates Telecommunication Company (Etisalat), Alcatel presented its next-Generation mobile telephone technology and its next-Generation future networks solutions. The president confirmed that Alcatel spent nearly four billion dollars over the past few years to develop its third generation of mobile telephones. He added that it will take another two to three years to operate the next-Generation networks in the Middle East. — (menareport.com)
