Al Naboodah General Enterprises has won a 500,000 Emirati dirham ($136,000) supply contract from DHL UAE, the Emirates' air express provider, for the lease and servicing of nine new VW vehicles. DHL UAE will take delivery of five VW Caddies, each with a 1.4 liter engine and 800 kgs capacity and four VW Transporters, with 2.5 liter engines and 1.2 tons capacity, this August.

“This represents a 24-month lease and service agreement,” said Country Services Manager of DHL UAE, Bachi Spiga,. “Delivery will take the company's UAE fleet to 86 vehicles. These latest fleet additions were selected for their fuel-efficiency and ability to further boost our hub capacity and improve our ability to handle larger, heavyweight consignments.

Last year DHL UAE awarded Al Naboodah a Dh 1.2 million lease and servicing contract for five vans and two trucks. DHL UAE says Al Naboodah won the business in a competitive pitch after providing pro-active servicing initiatives with value-added features, including a mobile service unit dedicated to DHL vehicles. — (menareport.com)
