ALBAWABA – The first Bahraini satellite, "Al Munther," was successfully launched and reached its orbit after being carried aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.

Al Munther Bahraini satellite was launched with SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket as part of the SpaceX 13 Transporter mission from California, USA.
Notably, the Al Munther Bahraini satellite features top-notch technology, designed and developed by Bahraini national talent.
According to Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, and Secretary General of the Supreme Defense Council, the country aims to localize and strengthen its space technology and achievements through this remarkable innovation.
Al Munther Bahraini satellite is a 3.2 kg nanosatellite orbiting in a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of approximately 550 km above sea level. It was developed entirely in Bahrain by a local team, who successfully designed, programmed, and conducted environmental and operational tests.

According to the Bahrain News Agency, the Bahraini satellite carries a medium-resolution camera (20 meters/pixel) to capture images of Bahrain's territorial waters and coastal areas, aiding in environmental studies.
Additionally, Al Munther is equipped with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology, capable of analyzing satellite images before transmitting them to Earth, as well as an advanced security system to protect the gathered data.
