Al-Futtaim Group has announced further major expansion of its operations. This will take the form of new retail outlets for Marks and Spencer, Plug-ins ElectroniX, ACE, Toys R Us and Al-Futtaim Watches and Jewelry in the new Gardens Shopping Mall Dubai being developed by Nakheel.
Additionally, Al-Futtaim will develop new automotive showrooms for their brands, which will be supported by modern service and parts facilities. Within the new development at the Gardens, Toyota and Lexus will offer full sales, service and parts facilities, as will Honda, Volvo, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Al-Futtaim Automall will also have showrooms. It is anticipated that these facilities will open in the first half of 2005.
This is the second retailer to officially announce their partnership with The Gardens Shopping Mall after the French hypermarket Géant announced last month they will open a hypermarket in the mall.
The Gardens Shopping Mall will be located in the Gardens residential complex. The mall, which is expected to open in September 2004, will combine retail, entertainment, restaurant and family activities all within a themed environment.
Over 300 units will be available for lease throughout the single level mall covering 3.1 million square feet. In addition there will also be provisions for 5,000 car parking spaces and unique family activities to take the total site space up to 5.4 million square feet. — (menareport.com)
