Bahraini engineer Waleed Ishaq Saffy has been named as general manager of Al Areen development. The appointment was declared by Al Areen Holding Company (Al Areen), developers of the $750 million mixed-use health and family tourism development in the southern region of Bahrain.
Before joining Al Areen, Saffy was the acting director of the engineering and maintenance directorate at the Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA), and was responsible for key project developments at Bahrain International Airport.
The Al Areen project, which is set to be fully operational by 2008, has been conceived as a mixed-use project offering. It is a 25-minute drive from the city center of Manama, a 35-minute drive from the Bahrain International Airport, and is located close to the Al Areen Wildlife Sanctuary and Bahrain International Circuit.
