European aircraft producer Airbus has announced plans to manufacture airplane parts in Turkey’s Izmir Free Trade Zone, reported Sabah. Airbus currently holds a 30 percent market share in Turkey. Airbus has spares centers in Beijing, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Singapore and Washington.
Airbus is a leading aircraft manufacturer. Its airliners range in capacity from 100 to more than 500 seats. Airbus has delivered over 2,800 aircraft to 180 customers worldwide and boasts an order book of more than 1,500 aircraft for delivery over the coming years.
With an annual turnover of €20.5 billion in 2001, Airbus is an affiliate of European aerospace firm EADS.
