Air Algerie took delivery Saturday in Algiers of a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft from the Boeing factory based in Seattle, according to the Algerian airline company’s press release. It is the second out of three aircraft of the same type that the Algerian airliner has received this year as part of the renewal of its fleet with a total of 15 aircrafts, Air Algerie pointed out, adding that the third and last Boeing 737-800 should be delivered on Tuesday.
In a related development, Air Algerie announced an increase in its fares due to a surge in fuel prices. "This increase, collected on flights from and to Algeria, will be removed as soon as fuel prices return to normal," the national airline company noted, justifying this decision by the continuous rise of fuel prices worldwide and the high operating costs.
